Sverige i fokus is the study material connected to the Swedish citizenship test. It covers basic knowledge about Swedish society.

What the material covers
The topics include democracy, how Sweden is governed, law and justice, work, welfare, history, media, human rights and traditions.
The official version should always be read from UHR. Our summaries are independent study support, not the official book.
A practical study order
- Read one chapter.
- Write down difficult Swedish words.
- Answer practice questions for that chapter.
- Repeat wrong answers the same day.
- Take a mock exam when the basics feel familiar.
What the 13 chapters cover
The material moves from the country and democratic foundations into government, elections, law, media and rights. It then covers work, economy, welfare, history, international relations, religion in a secular state, traditions and public holidays.
These are connected topics. For example, healthcare questions require you to distinguish national government, regions and municipalities. Rights questions may depend on understanding both law and democratic institutions.
Official material and independent support have different roles
Use UHR’s version as the factual source. It is the material the test authority points candidates to and it may be updated. Use our chapter pages to review the same subject areas in a shorter structure and move directly into practice.
Our wording, examples and questions are independent. They are not copied official questions, and completing them does not guarantee a result on the real test.
A four-stage preparation method
- Understand the chapter with Swedish text and English support.
- Learn the Swedish civic vocabulary used in questions.
- Practice one chapter until you can explain wrong answers.
- Use mixed mock exams to train pace and topic switching.
