How the mock exam works
The mock exam is independent practice. It trains the same time and size described by UHR, but the questions are original practice questions from Öva Medborgarskap.
When to use it
Use mock exams after you have read chapters and practiced shorter question rounds. Then the simulation tests pace instead of first learning.
Before you start
- Set aside 90 uninterrupted minutes.
- Do not use notes or lookup tools.
- Keep the questions in Swedish.
- Answer every question before submitting.
- Treat the session as a pace test, not a learning tutorial.
Pacing 60 questions in 90 minutes
The average is about one and a half minutes per question. Straightforward questions should take less time, leaving room for longer wording. Do not spend several minutes on one unfamiliar term while easier questions remain.
Reserve the final minutes for unanswered questions and obvious reading mistakes. Change an answer when you notice a concrete fact or word you missed, not only because you feel uncertain.
How to read the result
Look at the weakest chapters. If many mistakes come from one topic, return to the chapter before taking another mock exam.
Review after the mock exam
- Group mistakes by chapter.
- Separate knowledge mistakes from language and rushing mistakes.
- Reread the two weakest chapters.
- Practise short sets until you can explain the answers.
- Wait a few days before another mixed mock exam.
How our simulation differs from the official sitting
Our mock exam is digital. UHR states that the first official civics test is on paper. The simulation mirrors the published size, timing and Swedish-only practice direction, but it cannot recreate the venue, paper layout or official scoring process.
The official sitting also requires valid identification, a test-day notice and compliance with staff instructions. Digital practice trains knowledge and pace; it does not replace practical preparation for the venue.
If time runs out
Unanswered questions give you no opportunity to demonstrate knowledge. If your pace is too slow, practise shorter timed sets before another full simulation. The goal is not careless reading; it is faster recognition of the question type so difficult wording gets more time.
Read UHR’s test-day guidance as well as practising. Plan the journey, check the notice and know what identification to bring. A mock exam cannot reserve a place or affect the citizenship assessment.
