Is registration open?
No. According to UHR, registration for the August 2026 sitting is no longer open.
You should always follow the letter and instructions from Migrationsverket if you are directed to register.
Who can register
Migrationsverket decides who may take the test. You cannot register simply by creating a normal account: you need the instruction letter sent for your citizenship case.
The letter contains the information needed to create a UHR account with BankID, Freja eID or a personal code. If the letter is missing or contains incorrect details, contact Migrationsverket.
Registration step by step
- Receive the instruction letter from Migrationsverket.
- Create the UHR registration account using an approved login method.
- Book an available place and confirm the registration.
- Read the test-day notice in the account when it arrives.
- Bring valid identification and follow the notice on test day.
If you missed the deadline
UHR does not allow late registration after the sitting has closed. The number of places is limited. No private service can sell a legitimate place or bypass the instruction-letter requirement.
UHR says information about the next sitting will be announced during autumn 2026. A new sitting requires a new registration.
Adaptations and the test-day notice
UHR can provide adaptations for disability or other personal circumstances, but candidates must apply and provide documents within the stated deadlines. The August 2026 completion deadline has passed.
Registered candidates receive a test-day notice in their account about a week before the test. It contains the practical instructions that matter for the individual sitting.
Confirmation and the registration account
A completed registration was confirmed online and listed under the candidate’s registrations. The same account is used for adaptation decisions, the test-day notice and the later result.
If a registered candidate cannot see the notice one week before the sitting, UHR asks the candidate to contact them. Check the account directly rather than relying on information from a private study website.
Protected personal data and name changes
UHR provides specific instructions for candidates with protected personal data. Never post personal codes, identity numbers or images of an instruction letter in a forum to ask for help.
A registered name may update from the population register. If the change happens close to test day, UHR may still use the old name and the candidate may need a population-registration certificate together with valid identification.
