Getting a test place is only the beginning. You must follow the test notice, bring accepted identification and understand how the result is handled. This guide separates published facts from details UHR has not yet announced.
Öva Medborgarskap is independent study material. It is not affiliated with UHR, Migrationsverket, Skolverket, or the Swedish state.
Before test day
The Swedish Migration Agency decides who is directed to the test. A person who receives an instruction letter can create an account in UHR's test service and register when registration is open and places are available.
After registration, read the account information and test notice carefully. Time, venue, admission, accepted identification and other practical instructions matter. Your own notice takes priority if a general guide says something different.
Test-day checklist
- Confirm the date, venue and admission time in your notice.
- Bring valid identification accepted under the current instructions.
- Plan the journey with extra time and follow venue rules.
- Read the complete question and all four options before answering.
- Distribute 90 minutes across about 60 questions and keep review time.
Format of the first test
UHR describes the 15 August 2026 sitting as a Swedish-language paper test with about 60 multiple-choice questions. Each question has four options and one correct answer. The test itself lasts 90 minutes.
A digital mock exam can train knowledge, reading and pace, but it does not reproduce every practical aspect of a paper sitting. Practise sustained concentration without receiving immediate feedback after each answer.
How the result is delivered
UHR says the result will appear in the candidate account. It is also reported automatically to the Swedish Migration Agency for use in the continuing citizenship process.
Check the account and UHR for the current result timeline and messages. Öva Medborgarskap cannot access the result or influence the marking or citizenship decision.
If the result is unsuccessful
UHR says a person who does not demonstrate sufficient knowledge may receive another opportunity. A complete public schedule for the next sitting, locations, capacity and retake process has not yet been announced.
Do not rely on a claimed retake date until UHR or the Swedish Migration Agency confirms it. A later attempt will require registration under the rules in force at that time. Use the waiting period to separate missing knowledge, Swedish-reading errors and pacing problems.
Train the cause, not only the score
For missing facts, return to the relevant Sverige i fokus chapter. For Swedish-language mistakes, practise core terms and question words. For pacing problems, use short timed sets before another complete simulation.
No private provider can guarantee a pass or predict official questions. Good practice builds understanding that works even when familiar content appears in unfamiliar wording.
