Date, registration and cost
The first test was held at Stockholmsmässan on 15 August 2026. Registration is closed, and UHR has not published the next test date.
The first 2026 sitting was free. The regulation’s SEK 2,000 fee is first applied to tests held in 2027.

Eligibility and alternatives
Migrationsverket decides who is directed to the test. Some approved education qualifications can satisfy the knowledge requirement without a test, and exceptions may apply in individual circumstances.
